Positive: GOOD location perfect condition clean house but for 2nd night the hot tub water wasn't hot I don't know why everything else was perfect. Recommend to everyone.
Negative: Only hot tub in Master bedroom water wasn't hot enough.
The house fit our 70's Girls Getaway - price, location, size and comfort.
Positive: Our group of three enjoyed the house. We each had a bedroom. The kitchen table was excellent for our card playing. We could open windows to let the fresh air in. Mark answered our questions quickly and efficiently for us. The price was in our holiday budget.
Negative: A suggestion would be to put a second shower in. The 3 of us were sharing the one shower. We did not use the master bedroom tub. Another suggestion would be to replace the tired carpet. And a paint job would brighten the place up.
Having said all this - we would rent again.

Great stay here
Thanks so much Harry! We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us. This visit was very short; we hope to have you back for a proper visit. Mark
Great to have computer games
Positive: Comfortable beds and nice to have the PlayStation. Close to the airport and supermarkets.
Negative: The sauna was in the garage which stunk of cigarette smoke so unusable.
The hot tub bath ran black water as obviously hasn’t been used in a long time.
Our apologies Sarah, we had had the plumber in to some repairs during the afternoon just prior to your checkin. That must have caused the black substance. Unfortunately, the guests just before you decided to brak house rules and smoke in the garage and had not aired out yet.
Positive: Amazing stay! The hosts are super friendly and easy to communicate with. There was more than enough room to park and was in a good location. Everything was clean and stocked, would definitely recommend this!
Lovely place to stay, will definitely rebook here again!!
Positive: Easy to find, loads of room, quiet neighborhood! Kitchen had everything you could need (we didn’t use anything as this was a super quick stop)
Negative: N/a
Very clean and comfortable home. In great condition. Had a great stay and a great time visting Calgary!
Good location, parking was very easy & ample. Stairs to 2nd level are steep. So anyone that has difficulty climbing stairs should carefully evaluate.Host responded to any questions in a reasonable amount of time.
Positive: 房间干净整洁舒适,一切都好,值得推荐。
It is spacious, with a classic italian design. Kitchen and all supplies are great. It's relaxing to have used the jetted tub. However, the house is only superficially clean. I can say, because my husband and my youngest daughter got a very bad allergy and got so sick of dust mites, particularly in the master's bedroom. We needed to clean wiped the top surfaces of its door frame, windows, wardrobe top surfaces which showed a black dusts, and we needed to take those two artificial indoor plants out of the room as they are so dusty. This feedback may help the unit owner to remind their cleaners to do some deep cleaning. But overall, this is a good place to stay, good location and quiet neighborhood.
Great place to stay and very communicative host. We will definitely consider this place for our next stay in Calgary
Thanks so much Sareh! Please come back soon. Mark
We had a very lovely stay.
Positive: Great location, close to stores, tourist attractions. Short drive to Canmore and Banff. Communication with property owner was excellent. Place is well equipped and got everything we needed.
Negative: Nothing
Great stay overall! The Airbnb was clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The location was convenient, and the space had everything needed for a comfortable visit. Check-in was smooth, and the place looked exactly like the photos. Would definitely recommend staying here. Our bridal party had a great time.
Thanks so much Mishael. I hope you book with us again.
Fantastic location, very easy to find and the beautiful, clean layout was enjoyable. The Mrs very much enjoyed the ensuite jacuzzi tub! Highly recommended
Thanks so much Eric. I hope you book with us again.
Супер ціна і все було в наявності!
Positive: Ціна і розмір будинку
Negative: Не можливо самому регулювати кондиціонер
I felt the ad was not clear that the house was divided into two units. It was not clear that we did not have access to back yard. It was impossible not to hear noise from each others units. I was okay with that but then the constant reminders and unfriendly communication from host about past noise complaints and warnings for us to not be noisy was off putting. I felt like we were paying the price for previously bad guests which didn't feel fair. Also didn't like that they accept dogs and accepted our booking but then came in with rules around dogs after the fact. That information should have been communicated to us prior or within 24 hours of booking so we could have decided if it was a right fit. The bathrooms were clean but overall the house needed a good cleaning. There were very limited cleaning supplies and cloths to even clean up after ourselves. I did have my own cleaning supplies so I guarantee we left it cleaner then when we got it.
Karen, thanks for your opinions. They differ sharply with 99% of the other guests. I hope the stress of your move is over.
The property was spacious and well appointed. There was a nice small deck that had beautiful morning sun and we used the BBQ. Nice living area and tv and the bedrooms and beds were comfortable but modest.
Thanks so much Nancy. I hope you book with us again.
Very nice place, enjoyed the stay very much
Thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us. Please come again. Mark
Three of us stayed for four nights and it was wonderful for each of us to have a bedroom to ourselves. The house was tastefully decorated, very clean and cozy. There was ample parking for two vehicles and the price suited us well. I would highly recommend this place for a stay in Calgary.
I was so relaxed in the home and the spacious surroundings 🩵
Thanks so much Elsie. I hope you book with us again.
We had an amazing stay! The neighborhood was safe and quiet, the check in and out was simple and straightforward, the beds were comfortable, the entire space was clean and the amenities were everything we needed. Mark was also super responsive and kind. I'd definitely stay at this property again.
This Property and Host was great! Host communication and ease of check in and check out made for an easy, stress free stay. The beds were very comfortable, the entire space was clean and well maintained. I'd certainly stay again.
The property is in great condition. We had no problems with check in or check out. . Would definitely stay again. Very clean. Quiet neighborhood.
It was a great place to stay.
It was our pleasure Colin. We hope to host you again soon. Mark
We had a great time, this house was perfect and met all of our needs while we visited family in Calgary. Neighbors were friendly! All in all was perfect!
Very clean, lots of room for the four of us. Lovely area close to some shopping. We would definitely stay there again.
Great location and very clean. Unfortunately we didn’t realize there were people staying in the other half of the house. It is a legal property with no access to either side by the other. However we could hear noises at night which freaked out some of our group. And we opened our bedroom curtains to the sight of other people in a hot tub down below. We didn’t care at all that it’s shared. We just would have appreciated if that was mentioned somewhere in the listing so we were aware when someone walked by the window setting off the motion sensors. Lol. A few very minor things need attention such as the lock on the bathroom door and the plug in the jacuzzi. But once you’re away of these things it was a great place.
The home was a great place to stay for the price. It was large and had plenty of space. Some things in the kitchen seemed quite worn, particularly the sink and dishwasher, but everything was functional. It was also nice to be able to park in the garage. One thing that renters should be aware of is that the basement suite is also a rental, and we could hear quite a bit from upstairs. I suggest bringing ear plugs just in case.
Lovely property and excellent host
Comfortable. A little tired looking. Only one shower for 3 bedrooms and it was terrible- only sprays sideways. Such a cheap, easy fix to put on a new shower head.
Rental is in a nice area and was very clean. The renters in the basement were very noisy though. We ended up leaving the rental early because of the noise from the other tenants.
Nice house for our friends to stay while we visited the city
Host responded quickly. Convenient location from YYC to Banff. Clean room. Full kitchen. Good for large family and friends gathering!
Thanks so much for staying with us! Hope to host you again soon. Mark
Beautiful well maintained property, gave us a comfy and safe place to lay our heads during our visit and an awesome jacuzzi tub to end our evening in.
Good place to stay. Super neighborhood. 4 mins from train station to get into see Stampede
Our family had a wonderful time! The house was spotlessly clean, and we really appreciated the thoughtful provision of toiletries and fresh towels. The excellent air conditioning made our stay incredibly comfortable, especially on such a hot summer day. So glad we booked this place!
This place was really good for family, but it was not 100% private place since there was another parties in the basement. Overall, satisfied with this accommodation.
It is an awesome place to stay in! Have a great rest in this beautiful and luxurious house, just like at home! Thank you, Mark!
Our host was a great communicator throughout. The property accommodated our adult family and grandson comfortably. We appreciated having amenities like the dishwasher, washer, dryer and BBQ.
it was our pleasure to have you come and stay. We always to try to enhance our guests' experience no matter what the circumstances. Mark
Family was visiting from PEI for a sports event. I met up with them from Edmonton for our stay. It was a good location for our events at the university and easy access to main routes in Calgary.
fabulous place to stay. house was well maintained and clean. Loved to use Jacuzzi under the natural light. Would love to stay again.
Thanks so much Riya. I hope you book with us again.
A very nice house (main level), comfortable and good space. Everything needed was available and we had a great stay.Recomended for families wanting to explore calagary area and the rocky mountaints
We really enjoyed staying at Mark’s Airbnb! It was clean and cozy. The only problem we encountered was the noise from those in the basement. Other than that everything else was great.
This was a quiet and relaxing place for us to spend time in, and Mark was proactive in anticipating what we might need during our stay. I recommend this as a good option if you're looking for a place to relax in with a responsive host.
Thank you Josh! It was a pleasure hosting you, please come back again :)
Very comfortable stay
The house is perfect but unfortunately for us it was a really bad experience. The tenants in the basement were partying until 5 in the morning for 10 days in a row. It was a nightmare to hear them every single day. We couldn't sleep. Although we communicate with the host, (about 20 messages) he didn't find the way to stop them. He proposed earplugs... At some point (after 9 days) he proposed to block the lease downstair for the rest of our stay but the day after was brutal... we ask to be reimbursed and have a compensation. He refused and relied on the Airbnb protocole of reimbursment. We finally deal with Airbnb directly and got reimbursed and compensate due to the gravity of the issue. As we got a late answer, we asked the owner to give us extra time to move out the day after. Again, he refused. I suggest to future tenants to ask if the basement is rented... in our case, it was 4 teenagers completely disrespectful and uncivilized, naked in hot tub...and they were never evicted.
We apologized for the disturbances due to this new feature (hot tub) in the lower suite. Erik agreed to stay for the rest of their booking if we were to block further bookings in the lower suite (with the exception of the following weekend which had already been booked). We also offered free use of the tub when the lower suite was not being used, and ear plugs. We advised Erik that we would install a camera so that we could monitor behaviour of guests in the lower suite hot tub. We asked for a suitable time to come by to drop off the hot tub key and ear plugs. We got no response. The next morning, notwithstanding the fact that he had already agreed to our offer for compensation in kind, Erik started asking for additional compensation for consequential damages because his son had missed some training days. Having concluded, at that point, that the situation was escalating, all the communication was copied to the AirBnB platform as the communication had all been direct by text. Our hope was that AirBnB would be able to navigate the situation (under AirBnB protocols and policies) and come to a reasonable conclusion for both parties. We were advised that the guests were leaving so we arranged for cleaners to come. The guests were still present when they arrived that evening. Erik and company finally left a day after their agreed checkout. We always do the best we can to assure the safety and convenience of all our guests. We have house noise rules clearly posted in accordance with city of Calgary by-laws. The camera has been added and no further disturbances have been reported or observed.
Nice, clean as advertised. Only betterment would be information on shared parking. But over all great acomodation.
Great place, had family staying here for a visit. Very friendly and helpful host.
Thanks so much Aaron. Hope to host you again soon.
We enjoyed a lot. Highly recommended
Jaskaran, your stay was too short! Please come back soon. Mark
The place was beautiful and lovely..All the necessary stuff was available. Wished the master bedroom washroom had locks and privacy….Since it was sliding door, privacy was a bit compromised…except that every thing was spot on.
Mary, thanks for your feedback! Believe it or not, the original bathroom had no door at all as it adjoins the master bedroom. We have added a lock to the barn door to assure privacy when desired. We hope to see you again soon. Mark
Thanks! Pleasant stay and great host.
Shardulkumar, we are so pleased that your stay went well. We hope to host you again soon.
Clean, well organized space, comfortable bedrooms, large kitchen table and nice sitting room. Comes with bathroom toiletries and basic kitchen pantry items (spices, cooking oils).
Hi Larissa, thanks for the detailed feedback. We only launched this suite in June and we have had a very busy summer with both units. We have had issues with some of the window mechanisms in the house since we bought it in 2021. We will have to tend to some of the mechanisms when things slow down. The curtains are high quality linen that match the mediterranean decor, I got them on sale, but it would have been nice to have had one more panel. The jet pump was the culprit in the other bath. the previous guests were indulging. At any rate, these are all points that we will address. Thanks again. Mark
We were so happy to come across this amazing Air BnB. We came to Calgary for the Country Thunder Festival, it was about a 20 minute drive to the festival from this Air BnB.
First off, it is such a great neighborhood and grocery stores, restaurants, and other amenities are a 5 minute drive or less away. We love that you can park your vehicle in a attached garage, always hear stories about hail in Calgary. When you first walk in, it is so spacious and the ceilings are nice and high. In the living room, you will find a good enough sized TV, PS3 and other various games which we enjoyed very much. The kitchen and it's appliances are all modern. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 washrooms. The master room with its own washroom and jet tub! Which we sadly didn't get to use.
We were happy to call this place home for the weekend. The one thing not mentioned was that the bottom unit is also used for bookings, but we didn't mind and did not have any issues. We will definitely be back at this Air BnB.
Sheri, your are very kind. We are so pleased that you enjoyed Il Veneto. We hope to host you again on your next trip to Calgary.
Mark had listed his home as an entire home. However, prior to check in we had learned that another family was going to be staying in the bottom suite.. (this was something we wanted to avoid as we were travelling with younger children). Noise travelled through the walls very easily). There was also no AC, and air flow is very slow during the hotter days. We were also very confused as the electricity on the second floor kept going off at a certain time so we are not sure if it was on a timer or if a breaker was turned off.
Tammy, thanks for pointing these things out. The electrical switches upstairs have been fixed and we have added air conditioning for the coming warm weather. We would be happy to host you again.
Had a good stay, was comfortable!
Thanks so much Shawnda. We are thrilled that everything went went well and you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to hosting you again soon. Mark
Mark was a super host! Just an FYI, if it’s hot out, there is no a/c. He did bring another fan which was greatly appreciated!!
Maggie, the comfort of our guests is Job #1. We have added air conditioning to the home for the upcoming months. Looking forward to hosting you in a cool place.
This house was listed as an “entire home” rental with a hot tub. When we arrived, we did not get the entire home (Mark had rented the basement out on different booking sites) and there was no hot tub.
The family that arrived shortly after us, was shocked to see us there. They booked on VRBO and also were under the impression they had the entire home to themselves.
When this issue was brought up to Mark, he started to apologize, but then was very rude and unreasonable when a partial refund was requested. He stated that his home was actually “two homes” therefore he could list it as an entire home. That is not only grossly misleading, but is a flagrant lie.
Then, a family arrived on the third day we were there. They had 5 small kids and had booked the house on another site… As it turned out, Mark had double booked the property, and then canceled on them when they phoned saying they couldn’t access the house. These poor families had no where to go. We felt scammed. Horrible experience.
Payton, thanks for pointing out these glitches in our listings. I can only repeat what I communicated to you in our exchange. This building / house has two legal, completely separate suites (city of Calgary). Each suite is a separate and self-contained 'home' with a separate entrance, one from the front and one from the rear of the house. We do our best to make it clear to guests as to which entrance they should use but sometimes people get confused. Both suites are now listed on three major short term rental booking sites. The second suite was only added in the last two months and we had some glitches when we added the third booking site on the upper unit. This led to an unfortunate double booking situation despite our best efforts to advise the booking site of this error and several phone calls with the inconvenienced guest when it came to light that the booking platform had not reached out to him to rebook in another property. As for the 'hot tub' comment, the upper suite has a two-person jetted tub also known as a jacuzzi. Somehow this was inadvertently miscommunicated by one of the platforms as a 'hot tub'. Given that the temperature outside during your 5 day stay with us was near 30 C, one has to wonder why a 'hot tub' was top of mind for you. After several calls with AirBnB, a partial refund was offered to you as there had been an accidental inaccuracy in the the listing. This exchange prompted us to immediately address these issues in our listings so that none of this would never happen again. Your feedback, has helped us debug our listings and improve the experience for all our future guests. We are grateful that this has now been corrected and that none of this will be repeated. Thanks very much for your insightful feedback.
Decent!
Thanks Kd. See you soon! Mark
It was awesome staying here.
Thanks Nil, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Mark
Tout etait impeccable. Exactement comme les photos.
Merci beaucoup Marise. Nous serons heureux de vous accueillir à nouveau chaque fois que vous visiterez à nouveau Calgary. Ce fut un plaisir de vous accueillir.
The only thing i want to mention is that the fresh air circulating inside the entire house is terrible. Very strong smell when other people cook in basement. disappointed experience throughout the stay.
Thanks for the feedback Chris. We'll see what can be done about that. You are the first guest who has expressed this concern. I'm sorry this effected your experience. mark
Great place to stay felt like home
